So glad you asked! Well, quite a few things actually. Here are some considerations...

1. About Journalling: 

Many clients have had life story journals thoughtfully gifted to them or picked one up themselves, and even started answering some questions. But, in the end, they sat unfinished on a bookshelf or in a drawer. 

While some questions and prompts as found in journals are great, (we use them too for fun and interesting information, facts, etc.) they don’t necessarily succeed in helping you get to the heart of what we feel is really important for your true legacy. 

With one-on-one coaching you have your own personal guides helping you to brainstorm, tap into and excavate the essence of what is truly valuable from your life experiences.

AND our program is designed to keep you on track, creating your gift of love so you actually GET IT DONE! ☺

2. About Videoing Yourself: 

You can certainly turn on a camera and record yourself but as any director knows, a carefully thought-out map or script needs to exist for a story to unfold in an engaging way.  Videoing yourself becomes so much easier when you have notes of organized written material to work from—before you start recording. Our program will give you all you need to take your audience on a cohesively presented, beautiful journey!

(Plus, near the end of our program we have a section that helps with some of the ins-and-outs of recording yourself to make the experience easier and more pleasurable.) 

Whatever you choose, we like to think of it this way: 

You can either trudge up the mountain by yourself carrying your own load and hope to get to the top one day—or you can join us on an interactive guided helicopter tour through the memories of your life and we’ll fly to the top together!

You sure can! While most people do this project solo, our Semi-Private option allows you to complete the journey with someone special.

Here's how it works: 

• Download all exercises, sample sheets, etc. twice so each person has working copies.
• Both of you attend the weekly one-hour coaching sessions and share items in the bonus package, including email questions.

Please note that because you will be sharing time, you will not have as much individual attention.

Also, please carefully consider compatibility and the privacy aspect—you may want to share personal information so please make sure you’d both be comfortable discussing what’s on your heart in front of each other.

Upside? These sessions can be very interactive and you have another accountability partner for the ride! ;)

Absolutely! Actually, many people DO gift this program to a loved one as they want to ensure their inner wealth and family stories are captured.

A beautiful thing about this journey is that it gives the creator a deep sense of purpose—as it should! They’re working on something that is as personal as it comes. This process sometimes even transforms the way the creator sees their life and the way they think about their life’s experiences! (We know from all the feedback we’ve been so generously given – thank you.)

Seriously, here’s what will happen next...

• You will receive an email with a welcome video and a list of a few items we suggest you have on hand to make your journey flow easily. (Cup of tea or coffee is optional.)
• You’ll be directed to a scheduling calendar where you can pick what available days and times work best for you. If possible, try to keep the same day of the week and time for all 12 sessions. For example: Mondays at 11:00.
• You'll receive a confirmation email, as well as a reminder before each session. 
• Be sure to download and print any exercises, charts, samples, etc. (If you don’t have printing capabilities, no worries. We can make other arrangements ahead of time to get you the materials you need.)

Please note: We will always call you for our coaching sessions.

Life happens. We get it. Whether a Dr. appointment gets scheduled, a grandson’s party gets announced, or you’re simply not feeling well, sometimes you might just need to reschedule.

We ask you to please give us as much notice as possible, as our schedules are quite full. We keep “make-up” blocks aside to help you find a spot that works at a later date. ☺

Should unexpected events arise that require you to skip a few weeks, please email us to let us know. We will work with you to accommodate your situation and get you back on board, joyfully creating your amazing once-in-a-lifetime gift!

No worries AT ALL! This is your journey and you can choose what you’d like to answer and share—or not! We respect that. Our program is designed to give you PLENTY of questions and ideas to work on, but you can pick and choose what inspires or speaks to you in each section.

Each week builds upon the last, so you’ll still end up with a very well-rounded gift even if you choose to skip a few parts here and there.

Before we answer, let us give you some peace of mind:

For all activities, we either go over them WITH you during our coaching sessions and/or provide SAMPLES of completed exercises or writing bits to help give you some direction and ideas.

But we hear you. Most people are not professional “writers”. Your loved ones won’t care if your stories are perfectly written or not. They want to hear you share your experiences, your advice and your perspectives. They certainly won’t care about “perfect” wording so please don’t concern yourself about that. These love-gifts are intended to capture your heartfelt wishes for them!

Having said that, there are options to consider:

• If you don’t want to leave a record of “writing” behind, and would prefer to record yourself, no worries. No one needs to see your drafts. We strongly suggest you work through the exercises and make notes for yourself, so your information and stories develop in a logical and cohesive way. You’ll be glad you have these notes to refer to when later videoing yourself speaking most (or all) of your stories.
• If you find it physically challenging to write, you can ask someone to help you fill out the exercise sheets.
• If you don’t feel confident with your writing skills, you could always ask a friend or relative for feedback.
• And, if you’d feel even more at peace having professional guidance, we do have add-on coaching hours available for you to use our time any way you see fit. We’d be happy to look over your work—making as little or as many suggestions as you’d like.

Please know, whether we make suggestions, revisions and/or edits, the final choice of what actually goes in your love-gift is always yours!

Absolutely! Some clients prefer to leave a video gift, others like a blend and others still, prefer the written word. This is your creation so we will help guide you to create the most wonderful gift which is to your liking and comfort level!

Having said that, we strongly encourage (but certainly never insist!) that you consider having even a tiny bit of a video recording. Imagine future great-grandchildren watching a video clip – they get to see your gestures and mannerisms, and hear your voice and laughter. Younger generations love video. This is how they communicate. We encourage you to speak their language.

It can happen—no stress allowed! You don’t need to have everything done before the next weekly session, but our sessions do build upon each other. If you don’t get the exercises or writing done, that’s okay as long as you’ve given it some thought so we keep moving forward.

Then, as we’re working on other parts, you can always circle back to complete bits and pieces of former exercises.

No problem. You don’t need to have everything done but our commitment to you is, after spending 12 weeks with us, that you will have a beautiful legacy gift in your hands!

If you’d like more time, then simply return to the unfinished bits after the 12 weeks are over and add them to your already awesome creation!

Keep in mind that we’ve added all the features that we’d like to have if we were working through such a program, including 12 weeks of email support. You can email us EACH week with up to 3 questions – that’s a total of 36 questions you get to ask us personally. We typically will get back to you within 24 hours.

And some people may prefer more personal involvement along this journey. For those of you who might like extra time to brainstorm or work through ideas, or get feedback on your exercises, or would like us to review your writing, or make concrete suggestions to express yourself more clearly, we have additional FLEX HOURS available for more time.

Big sigh on this one as it strikes home. But GREAT question. 

A quick story… The same year we started this heart-mission, a bestie quickly deteriorated and passed away. Her oldest son and daughter-in-law now have a daughter—we SO wish we could’ve provided her the opportunity to leave her super loving messages and stories behind for her own 4 children, and for the next generation that has sprung forth.

Here’s the thing: you might be 50 or 60 or whatever your age, but the reality is you just never know what life may bring. We sadly hear this it all the time. “If only my mom (or dad or loved one) had done this before they passed.”

And hopefully you will be blessed with an abundance of many more joyous years, but if creating something like this is on your heart, then give yourself the peace of mind (and joy!) of having your story and essence preserved.

And, if you want to update special milestones to your existing legacy gift as the years roll on, we have a section near the end of our program that contains suggestions of how to do just that!

This way, whatever unpredictable or unfortunate event may occur, you’ve covered the preservation of vital parts of your story and recorded your loving messages. And breeeeeathe…. ☺
